The use of ozonized water in medicine

As topical application in all infected wounds, and fresh surgically treated lesions.

Ozonized water is completely safe to use. There is practically no effervescent effect, which means that ozone cannot escape into the surronding air. No overdosage is possible either, as the quantity of ozone used is restricted by its solubility.

Water ozonization container with an efficient ozone catalyzer, which can be connected to every OZONOSAN unit.

It is best to use bidestilled water, through which ozone has been bubbled for 5 minutes up to saturation at a concentration of 100µg ozone per ml gas mixture.

Surplus ozone is reduced back to oxygen catalytically.

Rectal insufflation is now being used increasingly to obtain a systemic effect of ozone, and may be considered a genuine alternative to major autohemotherapy.

It is basically effective in two areas:

Its local effect is used in colitis and proctitis.

Its systemic effect is used in the same indications as those given for the major autohemotherapy, particulary in the various forms of hepatitis and as a general immunostimulant.

The insufflation set consists of a dosing bulb able to contain 150ml, connected at one end with the ozone container bag, and at the other end with the catheter through a fairly long tube system. Both sides are protected by no-return valves.

The ozone container bag - consisting of a standard, sterile hospital urine bag fitted with a lock valve - is filled directly at the take-of nozzle of the OZONOSAN and connected to the dosing bulb.

Low pressure ozone application and the local gas application in a plastic bag

Ozone-resistant plastic bags are availabe in sizes 300 x 600 mm (treatment of the shank) and 400 x 1200 mm (treatment of the thigh).

For the treatment of locally restricted wounds, continous (2-5 minutes) ozone gas application under a low pressure suction cup has proved its value. The oozone oxygen mixture set to the required concentration flows through a plastic cup positioned over the area to be treated (previously moistened with distilled or ozonized water), and is passed to the suction removal unit, where ozone is converted catalytically back to oxygen.
